About Mayflower Bakery

Traditional Hong Kong style breads, buns, pastries, and cakes. Offering siphoned coffee, teas and bottle drinks.

Mayflower Bakery is one of the asian bakeries listed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The business is registered at 1008 Race St, Philadelphia, PA 19107; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Philadelphia. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in Pennsylvania are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–6 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Mayflower Bakery at (215) 629-5668; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 226 reviews, which is a strong result for an asian bakery in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Pineapple bun and Swiss roll cakes 5 stars. A small seating area. Better to take your pastries to go though. Cash only. Server was a bit impatient but that is standard for Chinatown I guess.

i have conducted scientific research in philly's chinatown to find the best bakery (i went to every single one over the course of 3 days) and this is the one. the coconut cream bun and custard bun are my personal favorites, ESPECIALLY when they are fresh and still warm 😭😭

Mayflower was a random stop but looked like a great option for a quick snack. We didn’t have to wait long to order and there are lots of options for buns! We got the pork bun and the almond butter bun, which are priced under $5 each. The pork bun was so delicious and stuffed with meat, and was sweet and savory! I could eat 5 more of those and call it a meal. The almond butter bun is very soft and buttery (makes sense) and better as a dessert rather than a snack. Great spot for a quick and tasty bite!

I’ve gotten the taro cake for my birthday maybe 2 or 3 times now and it’s always delicious. The pork buns and egg tarts are great too when they’re available, and the prices are reasonable all around. I always look forward to stopping by when I’m in the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped by Mayflower Bakery & Cafe while I was in Chinatown and I’m so glad I did. The pastry case was packed with options and everything looked super fresh. I grabbed a pineapple bun, a roast pork bun, and a coconut tart, and honestly all three were delicious. The buns were soft and fluffy, the fillings tasted fresh, and the coconut tart was perfectly sweet without being over the top. I also ordered a Vietnamese-style coffee, which was strong and smooth and paired perfectly with the pastries. The place itself is small and simple, but the staff were really friendly and even offered to warm up my pastries, which made them taste even better. Prices are very reasonable, so you can try a bunch of different things without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s the kind of spot I’d happily come back to whenever I’m in the area, tasty food, good coffee, and a welcoming vibe.
